Prof. Dr. Fabio Tosti

Fabio Tosti (IEEE M'17–SM'19) received the M.Sc. and Eng. degrees (cum laude) in Infrastructure and Transportation Engineering from Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering with European Doctorate Label (excellent rating) from Roma Tre University, in 2014. A registered Chartered Engineer, he is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the School of Computing and Engineering, University of West London (UWL), London, U.K., and the Director of “The Faringdon Research Centre for Non-Destructive Testing and Remote Sensing” at UWL. His research interests include the development of new algorithms, methodologies, and models for geoscience applications and the non-destructive and satellite remote sensing assessment, repair, and maintenance of civil and green infrastructure. He has authored/co-authored over 220 research publication records in international journals, conferences, and books and delivered numerous keynote and invited lectures. Prof. Tosti was a recipient of the ECSs Award by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) in 2017 and several Best Paper Awards at International Conferences, including the 2021 IEEE Asia–Pacific Conference on Geoscience, Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology (AGERS2021) and the IEEE 2020 43rd International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP2020). He was the General Co-Chair of the 3rd and 2nd International Workshop on Signal Processing Techniques for Ground Penetrating Radar Applications in 2022 and 2020 (TSP—IEEE Conf. Record 49548), respectively, and he served as the main organiser, scientific committee member and chair of technical sessions in 50+ international conferences and workshops. He served as the managing guest editor for various journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of NDT (MDPI), and an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Pavement Engineering (IJPE), Remote Sensing (MDPI), Frontiers in Remote SensingGeoscientific InstrumentationMethods and Data Systems (GI), and the Journal of Railway Engineering.

Prof. Bilal received the Ph.D. in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from the Department of Land Surveying & Geoinformatics (LSGI), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU: 65th QS World Ranking), Hong Kong, through the prestigious Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellow Scheme (2010/2011). Prof. Bilal has the honor to be the first Pakistani (out of 300 applicants from Pakistan) who was selected for the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship in the pioneer batch of 2010. Currently, Bilal am serving as a Professor in the School of Surveying and Land Information Engineering at the Henan Polytechnic University, Jiaozuo, China. From October 2017 to September 2022, he served as a Professor at Nanjing Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China, and from 2014 to 2017, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at PolyU (HK). In October 2018, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education conferred Bilal the special title of “Distinguished Professor” based on his outstanding research achievements, and in October 2020, he ranked in the Top 2% of World Scientists in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences based on a single year (2019) by Stanford University, USA. Prof. Bilal have published more than 120 research articles in top SCI (E) journals (IF > 600; Citations: >3250; H-Index: 34) and he is also a certified “top peer-reviewer” by Publons – Web of Science with 290 reviews for 64 scientific journals. He has devised the following innovative methods: (1) Simplified Aerosol Retrieval Algorithm (SARA), (2) Simplified Merge Scheme (SMS), (3)Simplified and Robust Surface Reflectance Estimation Method (SREM), and (4) AEROsol generic classification using a novel Satellite remote sensing Approach (AEROSA).

Prof. Xingong Tang

Tang is currently the director of the Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Resources and Exploration Technology of the Ministry of Education (Changjiang University). He is the director of the Chinese Geophysical Society(CGS) and vice chairman of the Hubei Geophysical Society. In recent years, he is mainly engaged in teaching and researching in the direction of electromagnetic exploration,gravity exploration, petrophysics and geodynamics. He presided over 4 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of CNPC Innovation Fund, and participated in "973", "863", National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program, International Cooperation Project of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, CNPC Group Corporation. He has hosted and participated in more than 30 projects including "973", "863", National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program, International Cooperation Program of National Ministry of Science and Technology, China National Petroleum Corporation, Provincial Department of Education and Horizontal Research Projects. He has published in IEEE ACCESS, Journal of Applied Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geophysics,Chinese Journal of Geophysics, Journal of Seismology, Petroleum Geophysical Exploration, Pure and Applied Geophysics and other academic journals and international conferences. He has published more than 110 academic papers in various academic journals and international conferences, including 18 SCI and EI indexed papers. He is a famous teaching teacher of Changjiang University and a high-end talent of Changjiang University. He has been awarded 1 first prize and 1 second prize at provincial and ministerial level, 1 special prize for teaching research achievements at university level, 1 prize for outstanding contribution to teaching, 8 authorized national invention patents and 1 US national invention patent. He has been to the United States, Canada, Japan, Spain, Greece, Germany, Brazil, Korea, France, Singapore, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Thailand and other countries to participate in scientific and technological cooperation and international academic exchanges. He is a member of European Association of Geologists and Engineers (EAGE), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and an instructor of SEG student chapter in Changjiang University.
